For me, editing is where everything clicks into place.

Filming is about collecting moments, but editing is about deciding how those moments are remembered. The same footage can feel exciting, emotional or cinematic depending on how it’s put together.

Pacing makes a huge difference. Sometimes a quick cut creates energy and keeps you moving. Other times, slowing things down allows a moment to breathe. Finding that balance is one of my favourite parts of editing — because sometimes, there’s calm in the chaos.

Music plays a huge role too. A great track doesn’t just sit underneath a video; it changes how people experience it. Combine that with intentional colour grading, clean transitions and the smaller details, and suddenly everything starts to fall into place.

One thing I’ve learnt over time is that not every clip needs to make the final cut. Sometimes the strongest edit comes from knowing what to leave out.

Editing isn’t about adding loads of effects just for the sake of it. It’s about understanding what the story needs, shaping the emotion and creating something people genuinely enjoy watching — and hopefully, remember long after they’ve scrolled past it..
